Covid-19 update – 26.06.2020
As you may have seen in the news, the gradual relaxation of lockdown restrictions by Welsh Government means we are moving slowly towards being able to welcome back our customers. This can’t come soon enough for everyone at Denbighshire Leisure, and we are sure you feel the same.
Keeping you and our team safe
Once we are able to reopen, we will be doing everything we can to ensure your visits will be as safe as possible, without comprising on quality or enjoyment. You have come to expect the highest standards from Denbighshire Leisure and we can assure you that is something that will not change. In line with government advice however, we will need to make some temporary changes to both to the services we offer, and to your experience as a customer.
We are doing our very best to ensure the changes will keep customers and staff safe, but will not reduce your enjoyment of our facilities. For example, we will be introducing more outdoor fitness classes and will be adjusting our timetables to allow for regular, intense cleaning sessions. Social distancing measures will be in place in all of our sites and there will be clear routes around our buildings to help with this. Full details of the “new normal” will be provided to you prior to reopening, and you can be confident staff will be fully trained on our new procedures.
Keeping in touch
We are continuing to keep in touch with everyone via social media and hope you are keeping active and enjoying our latest online fitness campaign. This month our ‘5 x 60 challenge’ has proved a massive hit with Denbighshire’s schools. Organised by our Active Communities team, the Battle of the Schools has involved weekly fitness challenges set by 5×60 Officers, with pupils being invited to post replies showing videos of their completed challenges. In a hugely successful campaign, over 150 videos were received in the first week, with pupils (and some teachers) from across the county getting involved. Another digital campaign which proved popular this month was Volunteer Week, which has successfully resulted in members of the public contacting us with a view to becoming volunteers.
Supporting our partners
You may also have seen in the press that we recently launched a joint marketing campaign to support the Welsh Mountain Zoo, a fellow Top Ten North Wales Attraction, who are in desperate need of raising funds. Prizes have been donated by Denbighshire Leisure for an online auction and raffle, along with free games of Ninja Tag to encourage people to donate to the official online fundraiser. If you haven’t seen it already, please support us by liking and sharing.
